Gaga plays a modern day Mary Magdelene, who rides with Christ on the back of a motorcycle

The song's lyrics include: 'Jesus is my virtue, and Judas is the demon I cling to… I’m just a holy fool, oh baby he’s so cruel, but I’m still in love with Judas, baby.'
It has not gone down well with critics all over the world.

Gaga defended the video to E! sayings - "I don't view the video as a religious statement, I view it as social statement. I view it as a cultural statement. It's a metaphor. It's not meant to be a biblical lesson."
